How to unpair apple watch

The Apple Watch is an excellent piece of tech, but even great works of tech need a complete restore every now and then. There are two ways to unpair your Apple Watch from an iPhone. You can either perform the task on your smartphone or do it from the actual wearable device. Here are the steps.

How to unpair your Apple Watch from your iPhone

  1. As you unpair them, keep your Apple Watch and iPhone near by.
  2. On your iPhone, launch the Apple Watch app.
  3. Select All Watches from the My Watch tab.
  4. Next to the watch you wish to unpair, tap the details button.
  5. Tap Unpair Apple Watch.
  6. Select whether to maintain or cancel your cellular plan for GPS + Cellular models
  7. To confirm, tap one more. To turn off Activation Lock, you might need to enter your Apple ID password. Your iPhone makes a fresh backup of your Apple Watch before wiping out all of its data and settings. A new Apple Watch may be restored using the backup. The Start Pairing notice will appear after your Apple Watch has finished unpairing.
  8. Set up your Apple Watch again.

How to erase your Apple Watch if you don't have your iPhone

  1. Tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings on your Apple Watch.
  2. If prompted, enter your password.
  3. Select whether to maintain or cancel your cellular plan for GPS + Cellular models.
  4. To confirm, press Erase All. Your Apple Watch is put back in factory settings after doing this.
