In the last six months, Netflix has bought three game studios

Another game firm is being purchased by Netflix.

For an unknown sum, Netflix is acquiring Boss Fight Entertainment, a mobile game developer, which will "help expedite our capacity to provide Netflix members with fantastic games wherever they want to play them," according to the firm.

Boss Fight Entertainment, according to Netflix, has "vast experience producing blockbuster games across genres." While this may be true of the developers—Variety says that some of them previously worked at Zynga Dallas and Ensemble Studios—the studio has only released one game.

Dungeon Boss is a "turn-based strategy RPG" that is available for Android and iOS devices. It was first released in September 2015 and appears to have been updated pretty frequently until December 2020, when Boss Fight Entertainment stopped publishing new versions.

In a statement on joining Netflix, the creators of Boss Fight Entertainment said:

“Boss Fight’s mission is to bring simple, beautiful, and fun game experiences to our players wherever they want to play. Netflix’s commitment to offer ad-free games as part of members’ subscriptions enables game developers like us to focus on creating delightful game play without worrying about monetization.  We couldn’t be more excited to join Netflix at this early stage as we continue doing what we love to do while helping to shape the future of games on Netflix together.”
