Today, September 27, Google is commemorating its 23rd birthday with a unique doodle on the site. But did you know that Google's birthday isn't usually on September 27th? For example, Google produced a doodle for the fifth birthday on September 8, 2003, whereas the fourth birthday was honored on September 27, 2002. The day chosen to commemorate the sixth birthday was September 7, 2004.

The doodle was first displayed on September 26, 2005, to commemorate the 7th birthday of Google. However, Google has used September 27 as the date since 2006.

When did Google first begin?

While Google's official birthday has remained September 27, the search engine has had a number of birthdays. The domain name Google.com was registered on September 15, 1997, which is officially birthday number 24 if one uses 1997 as the year.

However, Google began as a project in January 1996, while Larry Page and Sergey Brin were both students at Stanford University. January, on the other hand, has never been regarded as an official birthday month.

On September 4, 1998, the firm was formally formed. Of course, this means that the birthday should be on September 4th. So, why was September 27 chosen as the birth date? The date of September 27 was chosen to commemorate a new high point in the number of pages indexed by Google.

Remember that when Google first launched, it was not the world's largest or only search engine. Although Yahoo was far larger, Google gradually gained control of the whole market. Google has kept the September 27 date for the previous few years, and it is likely to continue.

We've seen Google expand beyond merely being a search engine in the last few years. Gmail, Android, the Play Store, and Google Assistant are all available. Some of the company's most notable products are YouTube and Google Meet. Yes, most of Google's major products now have more than a billion users, demonstrating the company's dominance nearly two decades after its founding.
