While tilting three-wheelers are not a new concept, Sirems, a French organization dedicated to safe and reliable urban mobility solutions, introduces a groundbreaking approach with Kairos.
Engineered for Unparalleled Stability
This unique electric scooter reimagines stability by positioning its dual wheels at the rear, unlike conventional models. This configuration, combined with a rear-weighted center of gravity, utilizes the rider's weight to enhance the propulsion of the motorized back wheels, which lean into turns.
A Unique Counterbalance System
To eliminate the risk of tipping during turns, Kairos features a patented lateral weight system. Strategically placed on either side of the front wheel, these weights act as counterbalances. When the scooter leans into a turn, the corresponding weight lowers, keeping the scooter upright. In extreme maneuvers, these side panels can even make contact with the ground, acting as stabilizers to prevent falls.
Beyond Stability: Aerodynamics, Safety, and Storage
These innovative panels offer more than just stability. They are aerodynamically designed to channel airflow, improving efficiency. In the event of a collision, they act as impact absorbers, enhancing rider safety. They even double as convenient storage compartments!
Coming Soon: A Revolution in Urban Transport
Sirems plans to test a prototype in early 2024, with a target price of under €30,000. While the official launch date remains unknown, Kairos promises to revolutionize urban commuting by offering an unmatched level of stability, safety, and practicality.
