On April 28th, Formula E will reveal its Gen3 vehicle in Monaco

After months of teasing, Formula E and the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) have confirmed that their new Gen3 all-electric vehicle will be unveiled on April 28th in Monaco. Fans will be able to witness the launch on their own digital channels, according to the two groups. Teams in Formula E will start utilizing the vehicle in the 2022-2023 season, with testing set to begin this spring.

The FIA originally revealed data about the Gen3 at the end of last year, indicating that it will have a 350kW (470 brake horsepower) motor and a peak speed of 200 miles per hour. It will also include front and back powertrains, which will be a first for a Formula One vehicle. The Gen3 will have more than twice the regeneration potential of Formula E's current Gen2 car, with a total power output of 600kW. The FIA also stated that the Gen3 will be the most environmentally friendly vehicle it has ever produced, with a net-zero carbon footprint owing to recyclable carbon fiber elements and other design considerations.
